Usually the Exchange can send mail out and exhibits no other problems. You may also see one of the following error messages in the servers event log.<\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.petenetlive.com\/KB\/Media\/0000165\/00002.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"lightbox[1169]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.petenetlive.com\/KB\/Media\/0000165\/00002s.jpg\" alt=\"Event ID 15005\" width=\"300\" height=\"333\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.petenetlive.com\/KB\/Media\/0000165\/00003.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"lightbox[1169]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.petenetlive.com\/KB\/Media\/0000165\/00003s.jpg\" alt=\"Event ID 15002\" width=\"300\" height=\"333\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\">This is caused by an Exchange \u201cFeature\u201d Called \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/bb201658.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Back Pressure<\/a>\u201c, and the usual culprit is, there is less than 4Gb (Lowered to 500Mb with SP1) on the drive that holds the mail queue.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"left\">Solution<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Option 1<\/strong>: Free up some room on the server hard drive so that it has more than 4GB (or 500MB with Exchange SP1) free.<\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\"><strong>Option 2<\/strong>: Move the mail queue database to another drive that has free space <a href=\"http:\/\/exchangepedia.com\/blog\/2007\/03\/exchange-server-2007-transport-452-431\" target=\"_blank\">CLICK HERE<\/a> <strong>Note<\/strong>: This is Microsoft\u2019s preferred action.<\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\"><strong>Option 3<\/strong>: Turn off Back Pressure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\">1. Locate the EdgeTransport.exe.config file (Its in Exchange ServerBin).<\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\">2. Open the file with notepad and add the following key as shown, (Paste it in).<\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\" align=\"center\"><em>&lt;add key=\u201dEnableResourceMonitoring\u201d value=\u201dfalse\u201d \/&gt;<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\" align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.petenetlive.com\/KB\/Media\/0000165\/00001.jpg\" alt=\"disable back pressure\" width=\"583\" height=\"167\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"PNLBody\">3.
